Executive Search Roundtable Discussion and Cocktail:

“The Labor Market for MBAs in Spain “, with the generous participation of Egon Zehnder, Heidrick & Struggles, Korn/Ferry, Russell Reynolds and … Telefónica !!

Four of the most relevant Executive Search firms and a high-level Human Resources Executive will give their vision on the labor market for MBAs in Spain. The following topics, among others, will be addressed:

* The labor market for MBAs in the current economic environment
* Specific sectors with higher demand for MBAs and how this has changed with the crisis
* What is the attractiveness of an MBA for a multinational?
* How to manage your career
* Is job / sector change possible in the current environment?
* What skills / profiles are more frequently requested?
* The recruiting process at different levels of experience

After a brief presentation and debate among the panelists, the floor will be open to questions from the audience to fuel the debate. Once finalized, there will be a tasty cocktail (wines, refreshments, Iberico ham and assorted cheeses), where you will be able to speak with the panelists in an informal and relaxed setting. If you want to be on top of the opportunities your MBA can provide in the current market or you are thinking of switching careers, this is a unique opportunity that you should not miss.

Roundtable Participants – Biographies

Pilar Girón Dá¡vila, Director Talent Management, Telefónica SA

Pilar Girón started her professional career as a financial analyst at Beta Capital. After getting her MBA, she joined the strategy consulting firm Booz Allen & Hamilton (today Booz & Co.) as Senior Associate, in the offices of Madrid , Buenos Aires , London and Chicago . In 1996 she joined the Tabacalera Group (today Altadis) as Director of Planning and Control of the Cigarette Division. In 1998, after the merger with the French company Seita, she was promoted to VP of Strategy of the Cigarette Business Unit, based in Paris . In the year 2000, she became a consultant at Egon Zehnder International, a top management consulting firm specialized in executive search and talent management consulting. In this company, she was a member of the ‘Talent Management’ practice and she participated in numerous project for clients in Spain and internationally.

Pilar holds a degree in Business Administration from ICADE and got her MBA from WhartonBusinessScho ol ( USA ) in 1992.

Carlos R. Alemany – Managing Director – Spain & Portugal , Korn/Ferry International

With more than two decades of experience in human resources and executive search, Carlos Alemany brings to the Firm extensive experience in conducting senior-level assignments, including CEO positions. His areas of expertise are Technology, Consumer and Industrial.

Prior to joining Korn/Ferry in 2000, Carlos Alemany was a partner at another global search firm. Before this, he was general manager of Spain and Portugal for a leading Spanish recruitment firm, where he worked extensively in a wide array of private and public sector environments. Carlos Alemany’s career also includes experience as human resources development officer with Citibank N.A. He began his career in an engineering firm, mainly focused on industrial robotics. Carlos Alemany was member of the board of the Spanish Naval Engineers Association for 10 years. He is also an executive committee member of the Spanish Chapter of Transparency International and member of Instituto de Consejeros y Administradores (Spanish Partner of the United Kingdom Institute of Directors).

Carlos holds a masters degree in naval engineering from the Universidad Politécnica in Madrid and a masters degree in sales and marketing management from Instituto de Empresa.

Luis Baón – Partner, Egon Zehnder International

Luis Baón joined Egon Zehnder in 2008, and specializes in Financial Services and Industry. Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, he was Head of Corporate Development, Financial Control and Strategy for Isofoton (Bergè Group) in Madrid, and before, he was Head of Corporate Development and Strategy of Bergè Group in Madrid; From 1998 to 2006, Luis was working at Merrill Lynch, first in New York as a Research Analyst and later in London in the Equity Capital Markets, later becoming Vice President, US Research Equity Sales for Merril Lynch in Madrid; Founder & Board Member, Janiferal, Madrid.

Luis has an MBA from IESE Business School, Madrid, and a Business Administration degree from ICADE Madrid .

Ramón Gómez de Olea – Partner, Russell Reynolds Associates

Ramón Gómez de Olea specializes in domestic and international senior executive searches and assessments, with a particular focus on the technology, industrial and energy sectors. Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Ramón was a project leader at the Boston Consulting Group in Madrid for three years. Previously, he was with Elecnor, S.A., the Spanish Electrical Engineering Contractor, first as Caribbean Assistant Area Manager and later as French-Africa Area Manager. Ramón served as an officer in the Spanish Navy.

Ramón received his M.S. in mechanical engineering from ICAI Engineering School, his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his M.A. from the Lauder Institute of International Studies and the School of Arts and Sciences, University of Pennsylvania.

Diego Pérez Benítez – Principal, Heidrick & Struggles

Diego Pérez is a Principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ Madrid office and is a member of the Global Technology & Professional Services Practice. He has a wide experience in serving clients within the management consulting, IT services and technology assignments throughout Europe. He also advises companies as a management consultant on organization, design, executive assessment and human capital development initiatives. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Diego worked for an international recruitment company as Head of the Technology and Professional Services Practices. Previously, Diego worked for business consulting and software firms CMC and Baan Business Systems, developing projects such as business process reengineering and systems implementation for industrial companies. Diego began his career at Deutsche Bank in Spain in the Corporate Finance department.

Diego holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from CUNEF, ComplutenseUniversi ty and a PDD (Executive Development Program) from IESE Business School.
