In the US, the only sector of the economy to be a net creator of new jobs in the last decade was the NGO area – not manufacturing, services, or the government. With the cutback of national budgets likely to continue for some years to come, the opportunities to bring skills from the private sector and government to enhance existing NGOs or build new ones will continue to be an exciting career alternative.
Each of our speakers have experience in the NGO world and are eager to share their experiences with those who may be actively considering such a move or with people who wish to learn more in examining their own career plans.
Each speaker will provide an 8-10 minute presentation, but the true value of the event will be an active dialogue among the audience and the speakers.
As we believe this subject will provoke many new ideas, the discussions will move to a local bar for a glass of wine and further exchanges of experiences.
We hope that members and friends of the two sponsoring clubs will pass the invitation on to others who might be interested, and we also look forward to the participation of many members of other clubs associated with the Ryder Club.
Admission will be free of charge (bar expenses for participant’s own account)
